This is a re-release of Arohi Ensemble 'Tilak Shyam' with Analog mastering. The Los Angeles-based Arohi Ensemble, an east/west chamber music ensemble features a dynamic collaboration of virtuoso artists from India and America. Tilak Shyam is based on a composite raga creation of Ravi Shankar created in 1954 and features four of Ravi's direct disciples including sarod player Partho Sarothy, sitarist Paul Livingstone, bansuri player Pedro Eustache and cellist Barry Phillips and two percussionists of India, Abhijit Banerjee on tabla and Somnath Roy on ghatum.
